Trekking to the Heavenly Mountains: Enilchek Glacier

Central Tien Shan, located on the border of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and China, is one of the most popular mountaineering spots in the world. The route belongs to one of the most famous and picturesque trekking path in Kyrgyzstan

Brief description:

Trekkers can feel the power of the glacier in the south Enylchek valley, which is the second largest glacier in the world outside of the polar ice caps, with a length of more than 60 km. The appointment is the base camp at the foot of the great mountains. There is a beautiful view of the highest points of the Tien Shan mountains - Victory (Tomur 7 439 m) and Khan Tengri (6 995 m). Kan Too, the seond highest peak in this range, is the treasure of the Tien Shan It is said only a few other mountains can compete with the beauty of Khan Tengri. When the sun sets, all the surrounding mountains are left in darkness while Khan Tengri is covered by the last ray of light of the day, taking a blood-red color. This magnificent view explains why this mountain range has been renamed after the "Celestial Mountains". We invite you to join us in this adventure through the unforgettable experience on this famous glacier. After all this dreamlike landscape in this land of legends, the group will experience an exceptional aerial view of the impressive summits and glaciers aboard of a soviet military helicopter on their way back to Karkyra base camp, where our transport will be waiting for the group.

Itinerary:


Day 1. Bishkek – Issykkul Lake – Karakol(400km)

Upon arrival the group will be met by Kyrgyz Adventure guide in a comfortable transport from and to Bishkek/Manas International Airport, including a visit to the Burana Tower in Tokmok, enroute café, a stop to the petroglyphs in Cholpon Ata and an excursion in Karakol, in the presence of our english-speaking guide. Lodging in a local partner’s house with a clean shower/ toilet, amazing breakfast and homemade dinner. Working day 6-7 hours.


Day 2. Karakol – Echkili Tash (150km)

After breakfast transfer to Echkili Tash about 5 hours driving by car. You arrive to the military border post Echkili-Tash, border checking. Afterwards cross the Tyz River. Dinner and lodging in the tents. Sleep in the campsite (3,200 m.) Trekking time: 2-3 hours


Day 3. Pass Tyz

Breakfast at the campsite, Pack and start trekking to the Pass Tyz. Lunch-box. After lunch continue trekking through Alpine Mountains and rivers, camp under the Pass (3,500 m). Dinner and lodging in the tents. Trekking time: 5-6 hours


Day 4. Tyz – Enilchek Gorge

Breakfast at the campsite and continue trekking to Enilchek Gorge, crossing the Tyz Pass (4,000m). Lunch-box. Afterwards You will go down to the gorge Enylchek. Dinner and lodging in the tents, campsite Chon-Tash (2,900 m). Trekking time: 5-6 hours


Day 4. Tyz – Enilchek Gorge

Breakfast at the campsite and continue trekking to Enilchek Gorge, crossing the Tyz Pass (4,000m). Lunch-box. Afterwards You will go down to the gorge Enylchek. Dinner and lodging in the tents, campsite Chon-Tash (2,900 m). Trekking time: 5-6 hours


Day 5. Enilchek Glacier

After Breakfast start trekking through Glacier Inylchek. Walk till the end of glacier Inylchek. Lunch-box. Dinner and overnight in the tents, which is located on right side of moraine. Trekking time 5-6 hours.


Day 6. Mertsbaher Lake.

Breakfast, afterwards continue trekking to the Mertsbaher meadow. Lunch-box. You will come to the Lake Mertsbaher, camp is (3,300 m). Dinner and overnight in the tents. Trekking time: 5-6 hours


Day 7. Glacier Komsomol

After Breakfast start Hiking up along the glacier Southern Enelchek, by the glacier Komsomol. Lunch-box. Dinner and lodging in the tents. Trekking time: 5-6 hours


Day 8. Glacier Proletarskiy.

Breakfast. Start hiking up along the glacier Southern Enelchek. Lunch-box. Continue trekking through the most beautiful Celestial Mountains to Proletarskiy Glacier (3,900m). Dinner and lodging in the tents. Trekking time 5-6 hours


Day 9. Zvezdochka Glacier

Breakfast at the campsite. Start hiking up to the glacier Southern Enelchek till the junction with the glacier Zvezdochka. Lunch-box. The basic camp is here – camp (4,100m). Dinner and lodging in the tents. Trekking time 5-6 hours.


Day 10. South Enilchek Base Camp

Breakfast.This day is relax day and You can enjoy with the view of the most highest mountains like: Khan Tengri (7010m) and Peak of Victory (7439m). Dinner and lodging in the tents.


Day 11. Karkaraa Valley – Cholpon Ata

Breakfast. Afternoon flight by helicopter to the base camp Karkara. Lunch at local family with traditional food. Transfer to Yssykkul Lake. Dinner and accommodation at resort (170 km, 2-3 hours).


Day 12. Bishkek – Airport Manas (300km)

Enjoy your breakfast buffet at resort, afterwards transfer to Airport Manas. End of the program.

Conditions of the program: We strongly ask you to contact us at least one month before the start dates of trekking for prepare your border permits

Equipment: Participants must have their equipment such as backpacks, desirable to have a personal sleeping bag, warm clothes, good trekking shoes, trekking poles, etc. (The whole structure of personal equipment) or rent it in Kyrgyz Adventure office.

Physical requirements: Participants must be in good physical condition. Feel comfortable in transitions over long distances, rapid changes in the weather and spending the night on the glaciers. Differences of heights range from 300 to 500 m in a vertical elevation. the maximum elevation 4100 m.

Booking / Payment

We book agreed tour package and services after clients confirmation. To guarantee booking we apply to make prepayment within 5 days after all services booked and confirmed. Balance can be paid upon arrival.

Cancellations and charges

- There is no cancellation charge for confirmed booking made 15 days prior to arrival, but any actual expenses incurred relating to documents such as visa support, permits, or any other necessary official paperwork, have to be paid.

- There is cancellation charge of 10% of booking amount for cancellations made less 15 days of arrival date

- There is cancellation charge of 50% of booking amount for cancellations made less 3 days before arrival date.
